USA Basketball has named Paul Saenz, DO, a team physician for the San Antonio Spurs, a part of the medical staff for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team, according to a Spurs Nation report. Dr. Saenz will joined by Portland Trailblazers team physician Don Roberts, MD, as they head to Las Vegas for training camp in July prior to the Olympic Games in July and August.
Dr. Saenz, of Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio, completed his medical education at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. He has been part of the San Antonio Spurs' medical staff since 1998.
Dr. Roberts, of Rebound MD in Portland, Ore., obtained his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine and has been a team physician for the Portland Trailblazers since 1994.
