Greg Bonnen, MD, a neurosurgeon who serves as chairman of the board of Houston Physicians' Hospital in Webster, Texas, recently announced his candidacy for a position in the State House, according to a report from The Friendswood Journal.
Dr. Bonnen is the first person to announce candidacy for the spot vacated by Representative Larry Taylor, who will be running for the State Senate. Dr. Bonnen founded Texas Brain and Spine Center in 2000, and hopes to bring the perspective of a small businessman and physician to the State House.

Dr. Bonnen has been endorsed by former Texas State Senator Kyle Janek.
