Practice Management

Jim Haemmerle, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with Mayo Clinic Health System in Rochester, Minn., will be honored early next year for donating one of his kidneys to a man who he never met, according to a Mayo Clinic news release. Dr. Haemmerle donated his left kidney to a carpenter and farmer from rural Minnesota without every having met the recipient prior to donation. Donate Life America, a not-for-profit alliance of local and national organizations inspiring people to donate their organs, has honored Dr. Haemmerle by selecting him to ride in the "One More Day" float in the annual Rose Parade in Pasadena, Calif.
