Wright Medical Launches Bone Graft Substitute

Spinal Tech

Wright Medical Group has launched the PRO-STIM injectable inductive graft for patients who need a bone graft substitute, according to a company news release.

The PRO-STIM is injected through a small needle or digitally implanted into the patient. The substance then hardens and is eventually replaced by the patient's new bone. The device is part of the PRO-DENSE material platform, adding a high volume of osteoinductive demineralized bone matrix to speed up the healing process.

The device received FDA 510(k) clearance last September. However, Wright Medical continued to conduct controlled trials for the past year and the product was not fully released until this month.
